A kitchen is often the heart of a home. The place where friends and family gather for a meal, or to chat after a long work week. Even if you don't like to cook, or simply don't have the time, the kitchen can still be appealing. I have always been a homebody, and love spending time in the kitchen. I am not a very good cook, (mediocre at best), but boy, do I love to bake! I also love decorating my home, scouring flea markets, and discount stores for inspiration and ideas. Through my many shopping excursions, I've found that the style I love best, is a mixture of kitschy and shabby, time worn and antique. When I started Vanessa and Company three years ago, it was the love of home, and the nostalgic, that inspired, and continues to inspire my designs. Don't be afraid to decorate with the things you love. You can never go wrong with that philosophy. Decorate with your heart, and your house will always feel like home.
